Be it a simple weekend getaway to one of its most important cities like Marrakech or Fes, or on a longer trip that includes spectacular places and landscapes. And this second issue we talked about in this post: next we tell you how it was our Two-week drive through Morocco, coming out from Marrakech and ending in Fes. We detail the stages, the km, we include a map and we leave you a lot of useful information so you can plan this epic roadtrip.

Some basic information to get you a first idea of the trip:

If you have two weeks to travel around Morocco and want to see the most emblematic places, we believe that the best route It would be the one that goes between Marrakech and Fez, crossing the heart of Morocco (the Atlas Mountains), passing the Route of the Thousand Kasbashs, visiting the gorges of Dadés and Todra and sleeping one night in each desert: Erg Chigaga and Erg Chebbi

To consider: If you did not have enough time to visit the two deserts, here we give you more info to know what desert to visit in Morocco.

Alternative: if you had more time, these are the best ideas:

  • Destine some extra days to the two big cities (Marrakech or Fez) that was our case.
  • Expand the route through the south, to make a loop from Marrakech through the Ourika Valley and Essaouira.
  • Expand the route through the north, visiting Chefchaouen and ending in Tangier.

Best of all, there are many options to fly to the big cities of Morocco from Spain. Here you can find the best ones:

The calculation of a trip budget is influenced by different factors, such as the style of each traveler, the type of accommodation, the chosen transport, the amount of activities, the season ... But we can take as a reference our roadtrip to calculate a budget per total person of a 2-week trip through Morocco.

We have dedicated an entire article to address this issue (How much does a 2-week trip to Morocco cost?), But here we leave you a summary table, with the total budget of the trip and divided into each of the items that compose it:

Flights → € 50

Car rental: → € 162.5

Gasoline → € 43.5

Accommodation → € 257

Food → € 144

Desert tours → € 130

Miscellaneous expenses → € 50

TOTAL → € 837

Therefore, it would be a total of € 837 per person, to enjoy a 2 week trip through Morocco.
