Not all are waffles and mussels with potatoes in Brussels: the capital of Belgium has a more interesting gastronomic scene than you think. If you are one of those who enjoy food wherever it goes, without going over €, this post you will like ... Here they go 8 restaurants to eat in Brussels (good and cheap).

It is one of the best known restaurants in Brussels thanks to its fish and seafood of quality and cheap. The menu is quite extensive, although you cannot try one of the specialties of the house ... mussels (They cost about € 7). The fried squids are also rich (€ 5). The only bad thing is that there is not much space: the tables are outside and you have to eat standing up ... it is uncomfortable if you have a kicking day or the weather is not good. But if it's sunny and you feel like itching something fast, it's an excellent option!

If you like the fish & chips, here they prepare it in luxury. From the most classic (€ 12) to more original options such as fish tempura with lime and lemongrass with sweet chili sauce (€ 16). Tip: don't miss out on anything in the world your potatoes, they are dead. Do not you do much fish? There's also chicken!

It's one of the mythical places Where to eat in Brussels and that which is not even a restaurant, is rather a small place, simple and without frills. The owner, smiling and super friendly, will prepare you a delicious snack, whose fundamental ingredient is the cheese (there are many types). Just don't cut yourself and accompany it with charcuterie, vegetables or even honey and fruits. Prices: € 5-7.

Leave Brussels without trying their famous chips It would be a crime and Fritland is one of the best places to do it. You can opt for a potato cone (there are different sizes) with sauces or try their crown jewel: the mitraillette, a sandwich with the most varied ingredients (meat, potatoes, vegetables and sauces). Do you feel like candy? Then don't think about it and come here to try their waffles. They are not the cheapest in the city (there are places where they are up to € 1) but if they are not the best ... almost. The bad thing is that being a rather famous place, there is often a line, but nothing that cannot be endured with a little patience. In addition the reward is delicious. Average price of waffles: € 6-7 (with 1 topping), € 6.7-7.7 (with 2 toppings). You can choose the type of waffle you want: the one in Brussels is more elongated and crunchy, the one in Liege is more round and sweet.

I could not miss a recommendation to eat a good pizza, so here it goes: try the Pizza Saco. It is quite expensive to be a pizzeria, but the ingredients are of quality and the result is excellent. Recommended the buffalo pizza, with buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil (€ 14). If you want cheaper options, the ham pizza costs € 10 and the margherita € 9.50. The bad (or good, depending on how it looks) is that it is far from tourist areas.

A good alternative to the usual food, Yaki offers asian dishes, especially Thai and Vietnamese, at a good price and tasty. If you don't know what to ask, don't worry: they have plastic models of all the dishes, so you can see them before and get an idea. Padthai does not disappoint (€ 11.5) and Vietnamese rolls either (€ 5).

Rue des Poissonniers, 6 / Rue du Pont de la Carpe, 1 / Rue du Marché au Charbon, 21

And we end this Lebanese restaurant, which takes a little piece from the Middle East to Brussels. If you never tried this kitchen, an idea is to choose different “mezze”, A kind of Arabic tapas. Another idea is to order the dish “assiette orientale”(€ 12) that includes hummus, labneh, tabouleh and goat cheese or meatballs (keftas). The best thing is that the products are organic and the dishes are homemade.
