Amsterdam has many sites of interest, it is a very complete city that attracts many types of travelers. Here we tell you what it is the best of Amsterdam, our top 10.

When I told my parents that to celebrate the end of the exams I was going on vacation with a friend, the two made a face of "well, if you pay it for you, we think it is very good." When I revealed that the chosen destination was Amsterdam they put on the face of "our daughter is a drug addict."

Nothing helped explain that Amsterdam is the Venice of the north "if you like Venice go to Venice." Or that there is a wonderful Van Gogh museum "if you like museums go to the Louvre". Or that it is a city tailored to the bike "you have the bike parked in the garage since you were 8 years old." Or that there is a super nice beach "there is no beach go go". Ok, you got me!

But if you are among those who think, as my parents thought, that in Amsterdam there is little more apart from coffeshops and joints ... you are sooo wrong! Here goes what for us is the best of Amsterdam, our top 10.

Amsterdam offers a wide cultural range: there are more than 50 museums and endless exhibitions and art galleries. The most famous museums in Amsterdam are:

- The Rijksmuseum which brings together the most important collection of Dutch art in the world (with the best works by Rembrandt and Johannes Vermeer).

- The Van Gogh Museum, where you can admire more than 200 works of the painter, it is the most visited museum in the country. We loved it!

- The Rembrandt Museum Located in the house where the same painter resided, it is very interesting since it is like a trip to the Golden Age through his paintings and drawings.

- If yours is modern and contemporary art, Stedelijk Museum It will be your favorite place.

- The Van Loon Museum It is perfect if you want to know how the inhabitants of the city lived in the 19th century.

- The NEMO (Science Museum) is fantastic if you travel with children: it is an interactive museum that aims to bring the most curious physical phenomena to the little ones.

How many “Venecias” are there in the world? I will have heard this expression for at least 10 cities, and no, there is none like Venice. But the canals of Amsterdam are mogollón. The best way to visit them is undoubtedly with a boat ride, which are also not expensive (this costs € 12.50).

And if you are looking for modern and fashion clothes do not miss the Kalverstraat and the famous “9 streets”.

The truth is that Amsterdam was a surprise: the shape of its houses, the thousands of canals, the churches, the chic-bohemian shops, the young atmosphere and the constant movement of its streets have really pleased me. Surely they will surprise you too.
