A few months ago, while we were reviewing the calendar of possible getaways, one of which we had very clear this year, is that we wanted to return to Belgium.
A few years ago we made a trip to Bruges and Brussels, which in principle was planned to also visit Ghent, but in the end, due to lack of time we had to reduce visits.

This year we did not want to miss the opportunity to return to Belgium so we started to prepare a trip to Ghent, Leuven and Antwerp, if we had time we would add Dinant.

The first thing we did for this getaway was to get the tickets with a low cost company, which although we don't like it very much, is always our “salvation table” for this type of getaway.
We will leave Girona on October 31 at noon, taking advantage of the bridge offered on November 1 and return home on November 4 at 6.30 in the morning ... to arrive at 8.30am and go straight to the office to to work. This is going to be take advantage of the trip!
The day we arrive we plan to take the train, since in this getaway after valuing rent a car, we have decided to move by public transport, to go directly to Ghent where we will spend the first two nights.

The second day of our getaway, the plan is to visit this city that wonders about us, not only comparing it to Bruges, but also telling us that it is even more impressive.
On Saturday we have the idea of going to Brussels, where we will base the next two nights and from there go to Leuven, another of the destinations that we left pending in the getaway in 2010.

This is another of the places that we really wanted to know and we hope that time will behave with us and allow us to make the most of our time.

Leuven Prepare a trip to Ghent, Leuven and Antwerp

After Leuven we had the idea of going to Dinant, but after consulting it in several forums and thanks to the help of many travelers, the recommendation has been that we focus more on one place and enjoy it, since Dinant is 2 hours away from Brussels and we will have to run to see everything ...
So it is almost decided that Dinant will be a place we will leave for a third visit to Belgium !!
Although there we have it, reserved in the planning for what may happen 😉
The third day we will dedicate to visit Antwerp, another of the places we most want to know about Belgium and it was also pending in our previous getaway.
Some of the last afternoons we hope to have a few hours to enjoy Brussels for the second time.
With this getaway we hope to cover some of the cities we most wanted to know about Belgium, although we are very clear that the country deserves some more visits and we are sure that at one time or another ... we will return!
