Italy is one of the most interesting countries in Europe that any traveler should know, at least once in a lifetime. Cities that emanate history such as Rome, dreamlike landscapes such as those in the region of Tuscany, views of Vesuvius such as those we can see from the Bay of Naples or Venice, one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in the world meet in a country that will surprise at every step. While we cannot do anything other than recommend the visit to all of Italy, we leave you a selection of 5 Italian cities you shouldn't miss

Florence

Florence is one of the best cities to see in Italy, a city that everyone has wonders about, but that surprises everyone once you meet her. It is that kind of cities that offer much more than one imagines and you only need to set foot in it to know that it is immense Outdoor museum.
Florence It is a perfect city in which to spend 4 or 5 days, not only enjoying its architectural and historical beauty, but also its incredible gastronomy, another important point for which Florence deserves a visit.

However, if you don't have more days, a long weekend getaway will be enough to get to know first hand the most important places in Florence.
You can find direct flights to Florence from Spain or fly to Milan or Pisa, usually cheaper and from here reach Florence by train.
We propose the following route of a weekend in Florence:
Day 1: Santa María del Fiore, the Baptistery and the Campanile, Plaza della Signoría, Palazzo Vecchio, Piazza della Santa Croce, Ponte Vecchio
Day 2: Santa María Novella, Il Carmine, Il Santo Spirito, Palazzo Pitti, Giardini del Boboli, Degli Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Republica
Day 3: Piazza de Michelangelo, San Miniato al Monte, Church of San Lorenzo, Palazzo dei Medici-Ricardi, Galleria Della Accademia

Rome

Rome, one of the cities with more history in the world and as they say, one of the best considered when traveling.
We recommend an average of 5 or 6 days to visit and get to know it. If you have more days much better, since you can enjoy it without running and dedicating enough time to discover many of the corners that do not appear in the guides and that are only discovered walking through its streets without a fixed direction.
We propose a possibleitinerary for 5 days in Rome:
Day 1: Piazza Republica, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Spagna
Day 2: Colosseum and Palatine, Roman Forum, Circus Massimo, Santa María in Cosmedin, S. Ignacio de Loyola, Tiber Island
Day 3: Catacombs San Calixto, Santa Maria Maggiore, San Pietro in Vincoli, Scala Sancta and Sancta Sanctorum, San Giovanni in Laterano, Termas de Caracalla
Day 4: Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Square and Basilica, Castel Sant 'Angelo, Trastevere
Day 5: Villa and Borguese Gallery

Venice

What can we say about one of the most romantic cities in the world that has not already been said? Undoubtedly an essential visit on a trip to Italy and that is that Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and must be visited, at least once in a lifetime.
Enjoying its streets at sunset or a gondola ride through the less traveled channels will be an unforgettable experience for any traveler.
We recommend about 2 or 3 days to get to know the city without stress and to get to Burano and Murano, two more attractions, located very close to the city.
We leave you a possible weekend itinerary in Venice:
Day 1: Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark's Square (Café Florian), St. Mark's Basilica, Campanile, Doge's Palace, Rialto Bridge, Ca'd'Oro Palace, Vaporetto ride on the Grand Canal
Day 2: Murano and Burano Islands, the Arsenale, gondola ride through the canals of Venice

Milan

One of the great unknown of Italy and that Milan receives less tourism than other Italian cities because it is considered to have less attractive.
We recommend you, taking advantage of the offers of flights that are lately to the Italian fashion capital, dedicate a weekend to meet her. We are sure that it will surprise you and leave you an incredible taste in your mouth (also for its excellent gastronomy).
We propose this itinerary for a weekend in Milan:
Day 1: Duomo, Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, Theater of the Scale, Sforceso Castle, Golden Quadrilateral
Day 2: Brera area: San Simpliciano, San Marco, Il Carmine and L'incoronata, Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie
If you have one more day you can go to Bergamo, a beautiful walled city 60 kilometers away or complete the list of 50 things to see and do in Milan.

Naples

Naples is going to be one of the destinations we visited in 2015, specifically in September, where we escaped 4 days, counting the days of flights, to one of the cities we most wanted to know about Italy.
Flights to Naples are not especially cheap, so we choose to fly to Rome and from there take a train, which in an hour or two, depending on the class we choose, will leave us in the center of Naples.
And since a visit to Naples is not complete if you don't know the incredible Pompeii, we couldn't put it aside.
We leave you the itinerary for a getaway to Naples and Pompeii What we have prepared:
Day 1: Naples: Piazza del Plebiscito (Royal Palace, Basilica of San Francisco de Paula, Salerno Palace), Capella San Severo, Galleria Umberto I, Castel Nuovo, Castel dell'Ovo,
Day 2: Pompeii
Day 3: Naples: Spaccanapoli (Basilica di San Domenico Maggiore, Duomo, Piazza del Gesú), Via San Gregoria Armeno

They say of Naples “Vedi Napoli e muori”, (See Naples and die). We are looking forward to meet you !!
