Recommended restaurants where to eat in Trastevere

  • Prosciutteria Roma: In the heart of the Trastevere neighborhood is this small place, which is not a restaurant as such since they do not have a license, you have to go to order your command at the bar.
Its specialty and for what is for us one of the best restaurants to eat in Trastevere, are the cheese and sausage tables, in addition to the typical Italian appetizers.
The prices are around 6 euros the cheese table up to 15 euros per person the most expensive option. They usually have a lot of people and the place is small, so it is worth coming out of the busiest hours.
In addition to the Trastevere, they have another place very close to the Trevi Fountain.

Prosciutteria

  • Da Enzo Al 29: This small restaurant in the heart of Trastevere, is another of the most recommended restaurants of Roman cuisine.
Keep in mind that they open at 12:30 noon and cannot be reserved, although at night you can do so after 7:30 in the afternoon.
It is usually complete, so it is more than recommended at noon or at night if you have not booked, come 15 minutes before they open, to queue and enter the first shift.
The price of the entrees is about 5 euros and the price of pasta dishes between 11 and 13 euros each, depending on the variety.
Highly recommended pasta Cacio e Pepe, simply spectacular and amatriciana.
We ordered an entree, plus these two pasta dishes and two coffees for 34 euros.

Give Enzo to 29

  • Dar Poeta: This pizzeria located in the heart of Trastevere has three stores, two of them in Trastevere, one on Vía de la Scala, where you can buy pizza to go and another in Vicolo de Bolgna, 45, very close to the previous one, in which you can taste in a traditional Italian restaurant.
We ordered a pizza Cacio e Pepe and a Dar Poeta plus water and beer for 29.50 euros (they charge 1 euro per person for the service) and we can only say that they are really, spectacular!

Dar Poeta, the best pizzeria to eat in Trastevere

  • Tonarello: This restaurant is one of the most recommended places to eat in Trastevere, although it must be borne in mind that despite being quite large, it has two terraces and there are several rooms inside, there are usually many people, especially from the 1 at noon and at night from 7 in the afternoon, so it is advisable to come a little earlier or if you do not want to queue.
We ordered two dishes of tonarello Cacio e Pepe, which they say are the best in Rome, plus some artichokes as a starter, wine, water and coffee for 34 euros.
    Super recommended!

Tonarello

  • Grazia e Graziella: This is another of the most recommended restaurants where to eat in Trastevere and according to our experience, one of the essentials that you can not miss in this neighborhood or in Rome.
In addition to two large rooms inside, they have a small terrace, very nice, where you can eat lunch or dinner.
We ordered a plate of fried artichokes, carbonara rigatoni, seafood gnocchi plus a glass of wine, water, two coffees and tiramisu for 41.50 euros.
Spectacular all dishes, especially carbonara and tiramisu.

Grazia e Graziella

  • Cajo e Gajo: This is another of the most recommended restaurants to eat in Trastevere. They have a large terrace and an interior lounge with several tables.
Something we discovered by chance is that they have the same letter as the Grazie e Graziella we talked about earlier, as Cantina e Cucina, another of the most recommended where to eat in Rome.
After this and see that they followed the same procedure to get opinions on TripAdvisor, giving a “personalized” attention and offering a card at the end of the meal, with the name of the waiter and the request for a favorable review on said platform, we understood that the three stores are from the same chain, the latter being the one we liked least, not for the quality of the food, but for the excessively "friendly" treatment they have and that we believe, sometimes it becomes even heavy.
We ordered some eggplant with tomato, Roman artichokes and a pesto pasta plus a glass of water and two coffees for 38 euros.

Cajo e Gajo

  • La Tonneria: As we want to leave our recommendations where to eat in Trastevere, we also want to highlight those that for us, have not reached the height, despite having very good opinions on TripAdvisor, the platform we usually use to choose restaurants in our travels.
This restaurant located in Via della Scala, the main street of Trastevere, is a small place, without a restaurant license as it happens in Prosciutteria, but being specialists in tuna.
Initially it is the type of restaurant that you would never enter while in Rome, as we are talking about tuna specialists and it is what they stand out, being normal in Rome to opt for pasta or pizza, especially if you are few days in the city and more considering the quality of the product.
We try and change a little, in addition to taking into account the good opinions, we opted to go one night in which we ordered five different tapas, more beer and water for 37 euros.
After the experience, we have to say that we honestly do not understand the good opinions, since there is a lack of flavor in all the dishes, being all those we tried practically impossible to finish.

The Tonneria

  • Fior Di Luna: This small place located in Trastevere, is one of the most recommended to eat a good ice cream.
We ordered a small glass for two and a half euros and a small turbinate also for two and a half euros and we can only say that it is one of the best ice cream in Rome. Super recommended!

Fior Di Luna

  • Gelateria del Viale: This small ice cream shop in Trastevere is one of the most recommended in Rome, although it has not seemed too remarkable to us.
The price of small cones is 3.5 euros and the small cup 3 euros and have about 20 flavors or so.
Although they are good, we believe that those of Fior Di Luna are much more intense and tasty, located a few meters away.

Gelateria del Viale

  • Panetteria Romana & Spaccio Di Paste: Located on Via de la Lungareta, 31, this oven is one of the oldest places in Trastevere, which has been operating since 1830.
They have extremely delicious pastries, which are paid by weight, in addition to pizza, pickles and emutidos.
Aren from eight in the morning, so it can be an excellent place for breakfast if you stay at Trastevere, which also has a very tight price, being coffee at 0.90 cents.
Especially recommended are small croissants filled with chocolate cream.

Panetteria Romana & Spaccio Di Paste

If we do not indicate otherwise, in all restaurants you can pay by credit card.
