Palace of the Dukes of Feria, now a tourism stop for Zafra in Badajoz

It's really about Palace of the Dukes of Feria, whose origin dates back to the year 1437, when a fortress began to be built.

More than a fortification it was a residential palace property of Dukes of Fair. In its decoration it shows a mixture of the Gothic style of that time with Mudejar elements.

At the beginning of the seventeenth century this palace was renovated, and from that time it is the central courtyard of the building, built in marble and with a Herrera style, which is currently the center of life in the national hostel.

The annex was also rebuilt church of the convent of Santa Marina, with which a passageway was opened, a building that now houses a culture center.

For its part, the large square that opens in front of the palace at that time was the Parade of the fortification. You can still see the Acebuche Gate, which was the main access to the fortress.
